"Unfounded Fears"
My breathing would come easier
Should your voice appease my ears
And the slightest sign that you are safe
Would bandage all my fears
For the wounds spread at the speed of sound
When you’re not in my arms
And your laugh, your smile, even your frown
Would silence my alarms
So I’ll lie in bed with grinding teeth
Thinking thoughts I can’t avoid
Till I find proof we share this world
I’ll remain paranoid
Not to exaggerate or be unreal
Make mountains of molehills…
But I’m crazy for you—and the thought of me,
without you here, just kills.
